A Word from Patrick Henry

Bible Text Philippians 3:9 (NIV)  And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

On May 1765, Patrick Henry (a Founding Father, “Give me liberty or give me death..”) spoke:

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

What do you think Patrick Henry might say about the shift America has made, away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

Prayer: Pray for revival for America. Pray for God to turn our hearts back to Him. Pray for Him to point us back to Jesus.
