Fingerprints of God: The Resurrection of Jesus

Christianity makes this dramatic claim: Everything stands or falls on one event in history – the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In the ancient Middle East, women were considered to be second-class citizens at best and mere property at worst. In the Jewish culture of the 1st Century, women were generally not allowed to testify in a court of law.

This fact makes the claims of the New Testament especially remarkable. All four of the New Testament Gospels are unanimous in their declaration that women were the first eyewitnesses to Jesus’ resurrection. Several of those women are mentioned by name: Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, Salome and Joanna.

No one who wanted to invent a story about a resurrected rabbi would have said that women were the first eyewitnesses to the event! The only reason a 1st Century author would state such a thing is because that is what really happened.

The presence of the women on that Sunday morning nearly 2,000 years ago is just one of a number of things that bear witness to the reality of Jesus’ resurrection. His resurrection changed the world and has the power to change you and me forever. Check out a link below!

We are inviting people from all around the country to build Tablecard Building a Wall of Prayer for Americaa “Wall of Prayer” for America: Followers of Jesus in every state committed to daily prayer to God for a spiritual Awakening in our nation.

What could the future of America look like if God’s people came together in prayer for her? We invite you to join us and others from across this great nation in rebuilding the foundation on which America was established. Let us commit to praying for an awakening, for revival, for healing. One nation, under God, built and rebuilt on Jesus the Foundation.

WHAT IS A PRAYER  WALL?  By Pastor Kevin Schuessler

A prayer wall is a spiritual wall that is a barricade to evil and holds people inside its walls together!  It is doing by prayer what Nehemiah did physically.  Nehemiah and God’s people were in a broken-down state.  The city wall around Jerusalem was in shambles, allowing Israel’s enemies the ability to keep its citizens in a defeated state.

7. ASSESSING THE DAMAGE

Does the Lord ever wake you up at night? The next time He has you up, spend a bit of time making an assessment of the damage done by the enemy.  Just as in Nehemiah’s day, the damage is extensive. You won’t want to carry the assessment as a burden, but rather, take time to talk privately with the Lord about it.

“I (Nehemiah) went to Jerusalem, and after staying there three days I set out during the night with a few others. I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem. There were no mounts with me except the one I was riding on. By night I went out through the Valley Gate toward the Jackal Well and the Dung Gate, examining the walls of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates, which had been destroyed by fire. Then I moved on toward the Fountain Gate and the King’s Pool, but there was not enough room for my mount to get through; so I went up the valley by night, examining the wall. Finally, I turned back and reentered through the Valley Gate. The officials did not know where I had gone or what I was doing, because as yet I had said nothing to the Jews or the priests or nobles or officials or any others who would be doing the work.”   (Nehemiah 2:11-16 NIV)

Why did Nehemiah go at night to assess the wall’s damage?  He wanted to see first hand the condition of the wall and make his own assessment without influence. Right now in America, there are a lot of voices making their case for what America needs.  We can take what we hear and come freely and privately to the Father.  After asking for His heavenly wisdom and discernment, we can take what He gives us, and turn it into a prayer back to Him.

From your private prayer place, in the quiet of the night, when it’s just you and God…. it’s a great opportunity for assessing, seeking discernment and praying.  “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.”   (Matthew 6:6)
